南姜又称为芦苇姜,台湾乡间尤其是接近山区的人家都会种几棵供使用,在腌制桃李时,取根茎打碎后加入以增添风味之用,台湾特有的番茄切盘所用的沾酱除了酱油膏、糖粉之外,还要加入南姜细末才有最地道的风味。
